"As an artist and producer I am constantly seeking new avenues of growth and exploration. Producing an artist outside of my "comfort zone" is one such way to achieve that desired result. I have decided to showcase two brilliant talents on this page from two sides of the music spectrum. First, is Ben Weintraub an incredibly talented songwriter, musician and troubadour. I have known Ben for some time and as a friend and fellow musician, I have constantly been inspired by his profound sense of lyric and melody. "Stop Following Me" is a jewel of an album. It took a while to get it just right, but I think you will agree that he is truly one of a kind. The musicians on this album are a who's who of players in the Los Angeles Music Studio scene. Those players are: John Thomas on Guitars, Kevin Valentine on Drums and Roger Feits on Bass. Ben is singing and playing guitar and piano. In addition to producing this album, I am singing the background vocals and playing keyboards. One of my all time favorites.
On the other side of the spectrum is Jerry Douglas. We have all known Jerry as John Abbott, the iconic patriarch of the CBS daytime drama "The Young and the Restless" His tenure as one the most widely known daytime actors extends over twenty years. To me, Jerry is my great friend. We spoke about creating a record years ago after I came across an informal recording of one of his live concerts. You see, in addition to his incredible acting, Jerry is a consummate singer and performer. We asked piano legend and musical director Steve Haberman to work out these classic arrangements and set out to make "The Best Is Yet To Come", a standards album, worthy of Jerry's classic voice. With John Thomas on guitars, Frank Wilson on the Drums and Mick Linden on the upright bass we achieved a sound, a sophistication not heard on albums like this in years.I performed and arranged all string, percussion and horn parts. Stephen Scott did a fantastic job engineering. It has been an honor to produce such a gifted man and a blessing to work with my close friend."
